On the Road to Chinle, Day 3

12 Jan

January 10, 2016

Sunday was our final day in Chinle. Jeremiah preached at one of the baby churches in Kayenta, while the rest of us stayed in Chinle to hear their guest preacher from Alaska, Pastor Overson.

I wasn’t able to  take any pictures for that service because my smart phone wasn’t acting very smart.

The sermon was so simple yet so profound. It was on God’s love. Pastor Overson was on fire while he was preaching!  By looking at him, you wouldn’t think he’d bpreach like that,  by oh my word. ..he was anointed and passionate and all over the place! I was immensely blessed by his word. I heard the last 5-10 minutes of Pastor Aragon’s Sunday School and I was ready for the altar call!  Talk about rich ministry!  Oh!  And the Chinle choir did special music and TORE IT UP!

This is me, Claire, and Michelle from the Chinle church.

In between services we ate at a sister from the church’s house and she hooked us up with some home made fried chicken,  mashed potatoes,  broccoli salad,  homes made dinner rolls, and homemade apple & cherry pies! Are you drooling yet!?! I was so excited to eat I forgot to take a picture of my deliciousness. But I did get a picture of the fellowship.

The people on the right are from Pastor Overson’s church in Alaska.

After we fellowshipped, we were on the road again with Jeremiah to preach at a different baby church about an hour out in Fort Defiance. Claire did special music and Jeremiah preached his heart out.

After service we all went to a lady’s house to pray over it and eat some homemade Navajo Tacos! If you ever go to the Navajo Nation, you have to try them!  So so delish!

The older lady to the left and her husband would drive to the Chinle church for 10 years faithfully, until they finally opened the church their in  Fort Defiance! Whaaaaat!? I know, convicting!

That’s it for now, but I’ll leave you with a picture of what we did today before we left Chinle.  It’s gonna take your breathe away…I promise. …

Spring Break Fun 2014

26 Mar

This year we didn’t having any big plans for Spring Break and whatever we did do, we wanted it to be low cost.

To kick off our Spring Break fun, we went to a friend’s daughter’s birthday party at the skating rink! I don’t think it was my kids first time roller skating but I can’t tell you when the last time it was that they skated!

Fun, fun, fun!!!

image

Isn’t that just the coolest picture of all the skates?? My fave! Yes, I’m proud!

image

Happy Birthday, Nataliah!

image

image

I couldn’t get any good pictures of them actually skating without it being blurry so I had to make them pose, which as you can see, Jeremiah isn’t digging too much!

We hung out at my friend Ami’s house and she taught me how to do a really cute bun on my daughters hair!

image

I did one on my niece, too!

image

Super cute, hu!?!? I think so, too!

We also celebrate my SIL’s 35th birthday! It was supposed to be a surprise but we can never keep anything from her because she’s a nosey rosey!! Lol

image

Yes, that’s a sewing machine cake!

She just recently inherited her grandmother’s sewing matching so she’s been sewing it up lately!!!

Hey! If you want to order some really super cute coffee cozy’s just let me know and I’ll give you her info!

image

If you’re wondering why her hubby is holding a lighter it’s BC yours truly forgot the candles!

image

…. And yes, she blew out the candle… Ahem, I mean, the lighter.

image

Me with the Birthday girl!

Another friend of mine had 2 extra passes to a bounce house place and asked if 2 of my kiddos wanted to join them. Heck yes!!!

image

Can you say, jump till you can’t jump no more!!! Get out all the wiggles!

As the kids jumped till they got hungry, (literally) Claire & I got to hang out and fellowship!

After we grabbed a bite to eat at ChicfilA, I took Josh to get an ice cream at McDonald’s, because he had a $5 gift card.

Cutie-pie!

Goofy-pie!

… Then I took Jordyn to get a Chocolate Chip FRAP  at Starbuck’s because she won a $10 gift card there, too!!

She went in and ordered it all by herself. She’s growing up so fast!

And as I waited in the van for her, I took a selfie and text it to my hubby!

image

He liked it. 😀

Another thing we did during our Spring Break is, I introduced my dog, Bo, to my friend’s dog, Gabi.

It was super cute watching them play!

Gabi did a little twirl…show off!! Hehehe

image

Taking a small break after playing. Look at their tongue hanging out!!

Gabi knocked out after a long day of playing with my Bo.

Gabi wrote him out!!

We had so much fun that day watching our dogs… And kids… Play!

I’ve NEVER been a pet lover. It has a lot to do with the simple fact that we never had pets growing up. Sure we had a cat for a day or two, then for whatever reason we had to get rid of it. But nothing long-term.

We’ve only had Bo for a year and he’s part of the family!

That night we went to another friend’s house and fellowshipped with them and a new family from church who are from Palao.

image

The kids were outside playing football and once it got dark they came in and played a game of good ‘ol Monopoly!

image

We talked and talked and talked.

We’ve known her for over 18 years, so you can imaging all the stories that came up. And all the, remember when so and so did this or remember that.

Ahhhh, the good ‘ol days.

It’s weird saying that because when I was younger I remember all the “old” people saying that.

Hmmmmm, what’s really going on here!?!?!

So as you can see, we had a very low cost Spring Break week, but the memories we made and the friendships we shared it with, both new and old, are priceless!

Oh, I almost forgot one more thing I did!
I kinda sorta got on a roll trying to learn new ways to fix my daughters hair, so I did Merida curls on my niece. It was Jordyn’s idea to try it on Madi first because she just LOVES  Merida!

Sweet girl.

Here’s what I did:

Are you ready for this!?!?!?

image

Wrapped strands of hair in flexible straws!!!

That’s it!
