I don’t know if you know this about me but I’m terrified of large bodies of water. I don’t like to swim in lakes or beaches or oceans. I’ll occasionally swim in a pool, but I’d rather just sit back and watch.
But my kids and hubby on the other hand, LOVE swimming.
(I spy a little poser!)
This past Saturday we spent the day at Comal Lake. And you can probably guess, I didn’t want to go. I don’t like to swim, much less in a lake. I went, of course, but just wanted to get the day over with.
Besides, it’s for the kids, right!?
I knew the kids were plotting to somehow throw me in the water so I told them they better not even try it… Or else!!!!
As soon as we got there and set up our area, all 5 of them jumped in the water. They were having so much fun swimming and jumping and rough housing in the water. They kept asking me to get in, and of course the answer was a firm no.
Then after about an hour, I thought, you know what, I’m gonna surprise them and jump off the ledge and swim with them.
I took off my glasses and stood by the ledge ready to jump, then I got scared.
“What the heck am I doing?”
It wasn’t a high jump, nothing worse than the jump I did in Costa Rica last year.
They waited. And waited. And waited.
Just like everyone did in Costa Rica. Lol
I finally jumped, and boy let me tell you, the looks on their faces was hilarious… Priceless.
They didn’t think I was gonna get in the water much less jump in. But I did and I enjoyed every minute of it! (Just not the horrible sun burn that I got)
I know they had a blast!
They jumped and did flips and dives. I was impressed. They had no fear! They would just jump in like it was no big deal at all.
I love this picture of the sun setting. But this one is my most favorite picture…
… All of us!
Oh! And yes, you’re seeing a 6th child. The boys younger brother got to spend the weekend with us. Isn’t he a cutie!?!?
